Commissioner Steve Rouse became a Fire Commissioner for Benton County Fire District #2 in 1996 and has continued to serve for over 25 years and has lived in the Benton City community for more than 65 years.

He was drafted into the Marine Corp in 1966 and served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged from the Marines in 1972. He returned to Benton City and became a middle school English teacher at Kiona Benton schools until the early 70’s when he made the difficult decision to leave teaching for the benefit of his family. He then worked for Exxon nuclear until the early 90’s, afterwards returned to the teaching world and taught middle school until his retirement in 2005.

Commissioner Rouse has served as a Benton County Fire District #2 as Fire Commissioner since 1996 and has enjoyed being an active part of his community.
