EMS Services

Our Fire District established an ambulance service in 1958. We cover approximately 140 square miles of ambulance district. Fire District 2 answers approximately 1300 calls for service annually.

Providing prompt, high-quality Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to our community is one of our highest priorities.

All firefighters are certified as either:

  • Emergency medical technicians to provide basic life support care
  • Paramedics with extra training and skills to provide advanced life support care in life-threatening emergencies.

Paramedics are on duty daily at our fire station to respond to the most serious medical emergency calls.

Our first responders working in the field are also supported by a Duty Chief or Commanding Officer on duty around the clock.

Most of the 911 calls we receive are medical emergencies. In 2022, we responded to 836 medical calls. More than 60 percent of our calls are for medical aid.
